A full circle moment for Australian born director Patrick Hughes, War Machine finds the local talent back on his home soil and bringing Hollywood sized productions to the local industry, to prove once and for all that Australia has what it takes to match it with the biggest and best in the world.
Alongside producing partners that include Wolf Creek helmer Greg McLean and star and new acting muse Alan Ritchson, Hughes has a grand vision for War Machine and it was great to catch up with the passionate filmmaker on what the film means to him personally and professionally.
Currently hard at work on his next big-scale feature to be shot in Queensland, an as of yet untitled Vietnam set thriller that will once more star Ritchson in a production that is being made in partnership with Sylvester Stallone’s Balboa Productions, Hughes is ensuring Australia remains on the map in a major way.
It’s been a long and fruitful journey following on from his brilliant 2010 debut in the form of modern Australian western Red Hill but we’re glad to welcome Hughes home and look forward to seeing what comes next once War Machine unleashes on a global scale on March 6th.
