New Australian martial arts action horror feature film, ZOMBIE NINJAS vs BLACK OPS will receive a black carpet premiere at Palace Nova Eastend Cinemas as part of the after dark events program for this years Adelaide Zombie Walk, on October 10, 2015.

The cinema premiere will kick off this independent films new age, DIY distribution strategy with a Digital HD (Video On Demand) release across all major digital platforms in Australia, USA, Canada, UK, New Zealand and Ireland on October 15, 2015.

The action film was shot on location in Perth, by SA filmmakers (husband and wife team) Rody and Kylie Claude, with a cast made up entirely of local Australian talent. Lead actor Adam T Perkins, whose return to Australia from a decade of theatre in New York City brought weighty experience to a complex role. Featuring UFC Heavy Weight Fighter, Soa ‘The Hulk’ Palelei as a ferocious Zombie Ninja, alongside the very talented Kira Lee Caine and newcomer actor Jason Britza.

“The lead role of DILLON was the most daunting to fill, we needed a talented dramatic actor who was equally capable of withstanding the demands of relentless fight choreography. Adam had never done any screen fighting, but he picked it up quickly thanks to his theater background and dance training in New York.” says Producer Kylie Claude.

The filmmakers and one investor privately financed ZOMBIE NINJAS vs BLACK OPS completely independent of any grants or film body funds. The budget was less than even a shoestring would allow, this didn’t deter Rody and Kylie from realising their vision. Principal photography took place over 21 consecutive evenings (as it was entirely a night shoot) with the lean crew made up of just the Director Rody Claude, Producer Kylie Claude, Makeup Artist Siouxane Martincic, Location Manager Tony Spencer and Production Assistants John McPherson and Benedict Chau.

Director Rody Claude was also the action choreographer for the movie. As a martial artist, he sought to achieve highly intense martial arts action and fight sequences with suggestive brutality, as opposed to obvious gore. “I’m an action fan foremost, I find blood and gore can be a distraction from intense fight choreography.” Rody Claude admits. Actors of varying fight skills and experiences were cast, “Each of our actors is unique in terms of their fight competency, which was exciting to design into the choreography. Soa Palelei is a remarkable fighter, his heavy hitting ground and pound style makes for an interesting ‘David and Goliath’ match up against the quick, light and lean Korum Ellis,” says Rody Claude.

In addition to the movie, Rody and Kylie have expanded their Zombie Ninjas world to include a ‘spin off’ animated comic web series, which is growing in popularity worldwide after just the first episode release, giving audiences a prelude glimpse of the movie story and characters.
