Predictions by Eddie on 11/01/2016
Could an Australian backed film about a crazed post-apocalyptic world be one of the biggest players at Hollywood’s night of nights? Will an ambitious and confronting western take home some major gongs and deliver Leonardo DiCaprio his first acting win? Or will more Oscar friendly fare like a cold war thriller or dramatic examination of church abuse walk home with all the plaudits?
The Oscars of 2016 are shaping up to be quite the year and in many ways one of the most open races in some time and with an eye on the upcoming announcements of the categories I’ve taken some time out to predict (and place a few biased opinions) what films will likely take places in the battle for Hollywood bragging rights.
I for one can’t wait to see what films are nominated and what films will eventually come forward as the true frontrunners!

You have some interesting choices 🙂 For me though, I think Bryan Cranston will almost most likely be in, he’s nominated in almost all awards so far. If anyone, he followed by Fassbender will take the fight to DiCaprio. Haha I also think Idris Elba and Paul Dano will be nominated for Best Supporting. And I’ll be rooting for Brie Larson!! Other than that, this oscars race seems to be the most uncertain one yet! Nice post!
Yeh I do get a feeling Cranston has. Great shot especially as his so well liked by all. It is in general though a very open race.

I have to say Eddie, I wish you were choosing the nominees this year! I think Di Caprio will win but I’m still pissed off he didn’t get one for The Aviator! And imagine how great it would be if Sly Stallone won.
Cheers mate, stoked to hear your on board with me.
E
Nice guys we’ll have to see. Nice prediction.
We eagerly await mate, especially after today’s GLobes results.
E
Nice Choices, I love Mad Max: Fury Road and am sure it will win some awards but I don’t agree with a best film award for it. Just my thoughts
Yeh agreed I think it stands zero chance of winning big awards but would love to see it score sone big noms.
E
These are GREAT predictions. If we see Howard Shore and Junkie XL nominated for score I would be so happy.
Glad you agree 🙂 here’s hoping im not to far off the mark.
E
I am laying my bets upon Leonardo & Benicio. Their work has been stupendous this year.
I’ve yet to see Sicario yet sadly but can’t wait to check out Del Toros turn.
E
Can people stop comparing who they think will win to who they want to win? Cranston has no hope, DiCaprio has it in the bag. This is ‘his year’.
Yeh as good as other actors have been in the last 12 months, aint no way Leo is losing this one!
