Raking in over $860 million at the global box office and receiving a warm reception from critics and audiences alike, it’s safe to say that Guardians of the Galaxy 2 provided fans, and in turn cinemagoers, with another highly enjoyable slice of space exploring fun, proving to all that James Gunn’s surprise smash hit original was no flash in the pan.
To help celebrate Guardians of the Galaxy 2’s home release this this month, The Movie Guys had the opportunity to send off a few questions to Guardians star Michael Rooker about his role in the successful franchise and one particular pretzel related question we just had to ask.
Playing the blue rogue Yondu Udonta in both the original and its sequel, Rooker has had a long and established career in Hollywood that in recent times has included roles in the smash hit TV show The Walking Dead as Merle Dixon and this year’s horror outing The Belko Experiment.
Please listen in below for the interview and we hope all Guardian’s fans enjoy the chat as well as their opportunity to grab their very own copy of Guardians of the Galaxy 2 to keep their Marvel collection up to date.
Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is available now via digital formats or from all good retailers on DVD, Blu-Ray or 4K, with all-new bonus content that’s only available on Blu-ray & Digital.
#GOTGvol2 and @DisneyAUNZ!
So awesome that you guys had this opportunity.
It was mate, we would’ve loved to chat with him over the phone but the times just didn’t work out. Still awesome of them to allow us to shoot through a few questions.

I remember he had a small but cool role in Gunn’s previous movie, “Super”.
Yeh I think Gunn and Rooker have known each other well for some time. I think Rooker was even in Slither from memory.

That just seriously cool that you had this chance. Michael Rooker is just an incredible actor. Loved him in the Walking Dead 😀
It was a really cool thing to be able to do mate, we we’re very stoked we had the chance to shot off a few questions to him.
His role as Merle in the Walking Dead will always be one of my favourite TV performances.

Excellent choice of background image. I can imagine Yondu casually taking an interview with his feet up in a spaceship.
He seems like a pretty chilled guy 🙂 was great getting to hear from him about the whole Marvel experience.
