2019 Oscar Nomination Predictions

List compiled by Eddie on 15/01/2019

2019 could just be the most open year in Oscar history.

Unlike previous year’s, 2019 provides a host of films, actors and behind the scenes contributors that could all well be winner’s on the night.

It appears as though box office smash A Star is Born and critical darling The Favourite are the film’s likely to be competing in the most categories, but a number of other films such as First Man, Roma, If Beale Street Could Talk and Green Book could all just as likely win their fair share of golden statues also.

It makes for a fascinating few months too come and hopefully exciting viewing, with other Oscar nights suffering from a case of results mostly being guessed before they were even announced.

Below is my collection of picks for nominations soon to be announced.

  1. I’m currently 9-1 down in my predictions competition with my wife. I’m hoping this year will be my year. I think A Star is Born won’t do as well as people expect.

    • Hopefully this is the year to catch up! It does feel as though Star is fading a little.
I think Roma will take Best Film and Director.
