DISCLAIMER – Jordan no longer writes for this blog

Classic and cult film fan residing in the picturesque Tasmania; the greatest place on Earth (some would say).

I believe that a truly great film can speak for an entire generation and encapsulate a period in time, and that the lasting impact of a Stanley Kubrick or Hayao Miyazaki speaks volumes for the power of immaculately constructed moving images.

… I also believe that the Resident Evil movies are brilliantly unadulterated guilty pleasures… and I love them.

Feel free to leave me a comment if you agree with my reviews, or more importantly, if you disagree!

Movies. How many things in life can make someone angry, make someone laugh, make a grown man weep and make a young girl swoon perhaps all in the space of a few minutes?

Anyone that says they do not like or enjoy movies is truly stone-hearted. I am an out and about loud and proud movie fanatic watching films with interest from a young age. Films of all shapes and sizes can be enjoyed and I pride myself on judging a movie on what it set out to achieve. I do not snob a film because it is directed by Michael Bay, I don’t judge Hot Rod on it’s script or film production quality’s.

All films deserve a fair go (unless it’s a Resident Evil flick) and I will endeavour to enlighten the masses on this wonderful medium.

  1. Gentlemen, thank you for following ritaLOVEStoWRITE. I hope you find some bioBLOGS in the near future or in the back log of interest. I do love movies. And I found your lists quite interesting. I jotted down some I hadn’t seen so I could add them to my Netflix queue. Keep writing and blogging. Cheers, Rita

  2. Hey guys! Thanks for the follow! I’m going to take a look around your blogs. I like what I see! Looking forward to many more posts! 🙂

  3. Thanks for the follow – I browsed through your works and landed up at se7en – god I love that movie and cannot stop shouting “whats in the box” and that reference is lost on soooooo many people! have you seen Fincher’s Zodiac its brilliant. do keep coming to my blog I know I will visit yours!

    • Zodiac is a great film! One that almost gets better with each passing viewing, very hard to find a reason it wasn’t more lauded upon release! We will be sure to check up regulary on your blog 🙂 Happy reading. (Eddie)

  4. You both are perfectly right. Movies are like the best media to send across an idea, portray a concept, paint the blank canvas of the mind, even, on rare occasions to inspire one to a better life. Except the twilight movies. That was pure crap 😛

  5. I appreciate the follow, and was glad you liked the post. I don’t only post about films, so they will pop up now and then. Regards from England, Pete.

  6. Thanks for following “What I Watched Last Night” and liking the review of “Condor.” I’m probably not as open-minded as the two of you, but I share your passion for the medium.

  7. Thanks for visiting my blog and liking my post The Lone Ranger. From one movie enthusiast to another I like what both of you aim to do with your blog, celebrate movies.:)

  8. Love the layout of your site and thanks for the follow at Let There Be Movies! Can’t wait to read up on your guys’ reviews.

  9. Hello, thanks for following my lil blog, great to see lot of review on your blog dude, that was great!

    Greetings from Indonesia,
    Reza.

  10. Hello Jordan & Eddie! Thanks for stopping by and checking out my review! Your blog is great – will definitely come here next time I’m stuck for movie choice 🙂

  11. Hey guys, I humbly thank you for putting me at number five on your blogroll … I feel like a bona fide movie armchair pundit now … Hugs! For your generosity and kick-ass Clerks homage, you shall be the first that I recommend on my blogroll … Keep up the good stuff and may the Force be with you ….

  12. I happened to come across your blog. Looks very cool. I know we’re not horror film, but we have a horror legend Malcolm McDowell attached to our drama! Does that interest you in any way? I noticed in the Antiviral review, you refrenced If, and Oh Lucky Man. This is more in that energy.

Please let me intro. myself. We are very fortunate that Malcolm has attached himself to our upcoming film BEREAVE and he loves it so much that we are doing a #Kickstarter campaign where he is personally involved in awesome perk fulfillment. So far we have sold some great perks like dinner w/ Malcolm, premiere & party, download of completed film, roles in the film, days on set and more! We are at $38,000 with 16 days to go, but need to reach $100,000. It’s doable! But we need to get the word out, let the world know it is happening; reach his fans. Press is brutal and very stingy. So we’re going grass roots with it. Do you think you could post a little something on your blog if you like what you see? Please let us know. We would be extremely grateful to you! Here is a link to our campaign:

As you may or may not know, Kickstarter is an all or nothing platform for crowd funding. If the campaign does not hit its goal, the backer is not charged anything. If we do hit our goal, the backers make history and produce our wonderful drama/romance starring Malcolm McDowell, Neve Campbell & JJ Feild

    Thanks!

    • Hi mate – what a fantastic idea and plan. We will endevour to mention this somewhere on our blog to let people know they can help your cause.

Best of luck and we look forward to hearing the good news.

      Eddie
